Elastomeric Bearing
Elastomeric bearing consists of several layers of elastomer and steel sheets placed on top of each other. The elastomeric bearing allows for enough vertical stiffness to support the superstructure and transmit the loads to pier, and enables the rotation of beam due to its elasticity and horizontal displacement of the superstructure thanks to its large shear deformation. Elastomeric bearings are structurally divided into normal elastomeric bearings and bearings with PTFE sheet. They have a simple structure, they are easy to be installed, cost-effective, low maintenance required and easy for replacement etc. This product is applied to bridge structures.
